Direct Action Timeline

2013

We gain access to laser cutting technology, leading to the creation of our first backpack and bag designs. At this time, the technology is not as widely available as it is today.

2014

Direct Action is established, initially as a line within the Helikon-Tex brand. The original logo features a chameleon holding a trident, referencing the SEALs' Trident. In March, Direct Action bags and backpacks are first presented by former SEAL and JW GROM operators at the IWA trade show in Nuremberg. The use of laser cutting technology in these products proves to be a game-changer.

As the first batches of Direct Action gear hit the market, we receive substantial feedback from end-users. Grzegorz Mieszczak and Adam G. decide to transform the Direct Action line into a separate brand, aspiring to provide the best tactical equipment to NATO military and law enforcement special units. The newly formed brand adopt a minimalist logo: a triangle composed of the letters D and A, symbolizing a "spearhead" and representing the brand's quality, functionality, and innovation.

In creating our product lineup from scratch, we aim to highlight the brand's Polish heritage. To honor Polish pilots who fought alongside the RAF from the Battle of Britain to the end of World War II, we name key Direct Action products after the aircraft they flew. The Spitfire Plate Carrier and Hurricane Chest Rig are developed mid-year.

We collaborate closely with JW GROM, to design gear that meets operators' current, real-world needs. Our products are developed and improved to provide end-users with modular products adaptable to their missions, always prioritizing reliability and safety.

In autumn, the first Direct Action production facility in Poland is launched. Shortly afterward, we secure our first tender for one of Poland's leading special units.
